David Hatter : President
David Hatter is the founder and President of Invest-N-U, an investment consulting firm focused on serving the needs of individual wealth management and retirement plan clients. In addition to overall direction of the firm, David also consults with select educational institutions in regards to their defined contribution savings plans, guiding them in the areas of vendor selection, fiduciary training and support, investment manager search and selection, as well as participant communication and education strategies.
David earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. Prior to founding Invest-N-U, he served in several other investment related positions, including sales representative with Great-West, Investment Consultant with Schultz Rowson, Managing Director of Retirement Services for Hobbs Group, Vice President of SunTrust Bank Retirement Services and Senior Consultant with CapTrust. David also currently serves as President of Arista Investment Advisors and Arista Consulting Group.
Scott Meyer : Senior Consultant
Scott Meyer is a Senior Consultant with Invest-N-U, an investment consulting and financial advisory firm. Invest-N-U advises the K-12, higher education and governmental marketplace on a fee-only basis. Scott assists clients in developing customized strategies around their employee retirement benefit plans.
Scott started his investment career at Smith Barney, where he spent seven years working with individual wealth management, retirement plans, and the fixed income market. After leaving the large institution, he saw the benefit a boutique independent firm can offer their clients. The supportive environment, along with best in class service, is what attracted Scott to Arista Investment Advisors.
Raised in Atlanta, Scott holds a Bachelor degree in Finance from Valdosta State University, where he received both golf and academic scholarships. He is an active board member of the Valdosta State Atlanta Alumni Chapter and Big Peach Outreach Program. In addition to his passion for the investment business, Scott has a passion for golf, running, and spending time with his lovely wife, Dotte and daughter Austin.
Danny Kofke : Retirement Consultant
Danny is a former school teacher who was in the profession for 14 years. He taught special education, pre-k, kindergarten, first grade and second grade. His love of teaching and finances led him to write three personal finance books – “A Bright Financial Future: Teaching Kids About Money Pre-K through College for Life-Long Success”, “A Simple Book of Financial Wisdom: Teach Yourself (and Your Kids) How to Live Wealthy with Little Money” and “How To Survive (and perhaps thrive) On A Teacher’s Salary.”

Jim Colbourne : Relationship Manager
Jim was raised in Marietta, Ga., and has over twenty years of professional experience as a manager at both the corporate and branch levels. His primary focus has been on supporting and nurturing client relationships. Jim began his career in New York City, managing the Customer Service department as well as the Margin and Risk department at National Discount Brokers. He returned to Atlanta as a Vice President and Manager of branch operations at Smith Barney. Jim worked closely with Smith Barney clients for over eleven years, helping them with financial questions and needs. He has also worked with numerous institutional retirement plans during his career and understands the questions and concerns they have while preparing for their future. In his spare time, Jim enjoys playing golf, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his wife Kimberly, daughter Katie, and son William.
Bernie Coffey : Relationship Manager
Bernie has over thirty years of experience in 401 (k) plan administration, testing and compliance. He also has relationship management experience with Non-Qualified plans. Bernie began his career in New York with Bankers Trust Company (currently State Street Bank). He then moved to First Fidelity Bank (currently Wells Fargo), and later joined Sun Trust Bank upon moving to Atlanta. Bernie operated his own company for eight years, specializing in participant enrollment presentations.
Bernie earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Pittsburgh. He has been a resident of Gwinnett County for over twenty-five years and enjoys watching collegiate sports, traveling, and spending time with his wife and family.
Jim Carey : Financial Analyst
Jim Carey is a Financial Analyst with Invest-N-U. He has over thirty-five years of experience in the retirement services industry managing people, processes, products, and client relationships. Jim has over twenty years of client relations experience with MetLife in New York and Atlanta, working with 401(k) and 403(b) plan sponsors. While at MetLife, Jim established and managed a full service client relations operation in Atlanta (i.e. providing investment, administration, compliance, testing, recordkeeping, and plan participant education). Jim has over eight years of experience with SunTrust in Atlanta as a Senior Client Relationship Manager. In that role, Jim managed SunTrust’s largest 401(k) client relationships. Jim also gained additional retirement services, consulting, and client relations experience at Invesco and The Hobbs Consulting Group in Atlanta.
Katey Strout : Operations Manager
Katey Strout is the Operations Manager for Invest-N-U. She brings more than ten years of experience and expertise in office management. At Invest-N-U Katey manages a full range of administrative duties in a variety of areas including, human resources, finance, and office management. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the company, manages the finances, and implements key initiatives to streamline internal policies and procedures. Prior to her work at Invest-N-U, Katey had a well-rounded career in administrative management, with experience in bookkeeping, human resources, marketing, and customer service. Katey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maine.
Stephanie B. Trent : Administrative Assistant
Stephanie Trent is the Administrative Assistant for Invest-N-U. Her areas of expertise include contract review and revision, accounting, data analysis, and communications. Stephanie holds Bachelor degrees in Psychology and English, and is a licensed attorney with over ten years of experience in Employment/Workers’ Compensation Law.
Ingrid Bagwell : Bookkeeper
Ingrid is the Bookkeeper for Arista Consulting Group. She has more than 12 years of experience as a bookkeeper. For Arista Consulting Group, Ingrid manages all of the accounting transactions for the company, while providing clerical support through assigned tasks that are aligned with the company’s overall mission. Prior to coming to work at Arista Consulting Group, Ingrid held roles as a Controller, an Account Manager and a Purchasing & Production Manager. In addition, she owned her own fundraising and mail order business for over 10 years.
Ingrid has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration – Accounting Concentration degree from Lagrange College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and is in the Sports Hall of Fame for Soccer. She resides with her husband and two children in Cumming, Georgia.
